2009 Novice Championship Scoring Platform

>>>1st Place - 5 pts, 2nd Place - 3 pts, 3rd Place - 2 pts....and 1pt to each remaining competitor (driver/co-driver) that completes the event, turns in their score card, & car number. No competitor will receive any points without turning in their completed score cards & car numbers. And for clarification...a "completed score" card includes but is not limited to having the Drivers & Co-drivers name, car number, & class clearly written on their respective score card.

>>>  Ties for the Novice Championship trophy places series will be broken by the following process...Most Firsts, then most Seconds, then Most Thirds. If a tie still remains, then the contestant who attended the most rallies will be the winner.  If a tie still remains...then matching trophies for the tied positions will be awarded. In order to receive an earned trophy...recipients must be present or represented at the finish of the last event.

And finally, due to any possible personal scheduling conflicts...a Novice competitor may miss one event in the series & not be penalized...since we will only be counting the 7 best out of the series total . If a competitor enters all of the events, we will drop their worst score...just to be fair.

2009 SOP Championship Scoring Platform
Since we again have eight events to score this year…we will be encouraging everyone not to miss one event!!  We will be continuing to determine the SOP Champion by taking the 7 best finishes.
**But keep in mind...you don't need to be participating in the Championship in order to run as a SOP'er...it's just not the same when others get trophies at the end of the year for winning the SOP class because they are getting qualified points.

And this is how you can qualify...you must satisfy all of the following criteria:
1) SOP Entrant must belong to a NWRC club by the June 1st, 2009.
2) SOP Competitor must work at least one event from the NWRC Friday Nighter series to earn qualifying points.
**Each club's Council Representative is responsible for notifying Tom Palidar by the June 1st, 2009 of all members who have joined their
club, indicated their interest in running in the SOP Championship, and have committed to work a Friday Nighter rally, to qualify for this
Championship. Note: working an event also means not competing in that same event.

And here is how the scoring works:
1st Place... 10pts                            5th Place... 4pts
2nd Place... 8pts                            6th Place... 3pts
3rd Place... 6pts                             7th Place... 2pts
4th Place... 5pts                             8th Place... 1pt

The individual Driver & Navigator with the most total points at the end of the NWRC Friday Nighter Series will each win a trophy for their efforts.
There will be no "Team" trophy awarded in this Championship. The depth of trophies distributed in this series will be dependent upon the number
of qualified entrants....so, the more competitors.....the farther the trophy placements go....
