Since we have more than enough events to score this year(10 Friday Nighters!!)....we are dropping RAINDROP from the SOP Championship & instead, using it as the "primier event" for the 2006 NWRC Club Monte Carlo/Tour Championship.

Also, we will be determining the Champion this year by taking the 7 best finishes....this should be very interesting for everyone. Who knows, if you get started early (like with the February Friday Nighter) & win the first seven events...you could be done with the September event.

**But keep in mind...you don't need to be participating in the Championship in order to run as a SOP'er...it's just not the same when others get trophies at the end of the year for winning the SOP class because they are getting qualified points.

And this is how you can qualify...you must satisfy all of the following criteria:

1) SOP Entrant must belong to a NWRC club by the June 1st, 2006.
2) SOP Competitor must work at least one event from the NWRC Friday Nighter series to earn qualifying points.

**Each club's Council Representative is responsible for notifying Tom Palidar by the June 1st, 2006 of all members who have joined their club, indicated their interest in running in the SOP Championship, and have committed to work a Friday Nighter rally, to qualify for this Championship. Note: working an event also means not competing in that same event.

We are changing the point spread to reflect less of difference between first place & second place. In addition, this change will also include scoring down to 8th place now. I think it's fair to say... "we will be expecting an even closer competition this year". And here is how it works:

• 1st Place... 10pts
• 2nd Place... 8pts
• 3rd Place... 6pts
• 4th Place... 5pts
• 5th Place... 4pts
• 6th Place... 3pts
• 7th Place... 2pts
• 8th Place... 1pt

And as last year, there will be no "Team" trophy awarded in this Championship. The depth of trophies distributed in this series will be dependent upon the number of qualified entrants....so, the more competitors.....the farther the trophy placements go....
